This type of diet helps keep blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar at a good level. If you also manage to maintain an adequate weight and do regular moderate physical activity, as indicated below, both organs will work optimally to maintain our health. 2. Exercise, moderate but permanent Physical exercise, along with a balanced diet, is key to maintaining our health. Lack of physical activity has been linked to cardiovascular problems, as stated in studies such as the one published in 2009 in the American Journal of Lifestyle and Medicine. The heart also suffers because its processes are slowed down. When it comes to exercise, a good walk, moderate exercise or yoga for 30 minutes a day is enough to improve the functioning of both the heart and our brain. 3.
